When asked what 'I do' as a Celebrant I used to come up with lengthy and detailed explanations until one day it dawned on me; I celebrate life.

Whatever the type of ceremony that I’m writing and officiating, it is a celebration of life. Whether this be a new life, the joining of two lives or marking and honouring a life ended.

Traditionally church services were used to mark the rites of passage; birth, marriage and death but in our diverse and secular world people are increasingly seeking an alternative, yet no less meaningful way to mark these most important life events.

Whilst maybe not wanting a religious ceremony as such you may also not want a totally secular one either. As an Independent Celebrant I can provide you with a ceremony, with or without a religious or spiritual element. Almost anything can be included; music, songs, hymns, readings, poems, blessings, prayers, cultural/faith rituals or something original that may go on to become a family ‘tradition’.

You may feel that you want an alternative to a traditional ceremony but are not quite sure how to proceed or whether it’s for you. Alternatively you may know exactly what you want and require this to be facilitated.

I can help you to create a truly personal ceremony that is exactly as you wish it to be. I will meet with you, taking time to discuss your ideas, thoughts and wishes and help you turn these into something truly memorable.

You will be able to check and amend the ceremony content beforehand and I will offer you the full text of the ceremony to keep afterwards.

I have no religious agenda and I am not a "Humanist" celebrant. I shall follow your lead, but am equally happy to make suggestions.

Generally, I will construct a ceremony with your input, however if you prefer I can construct the ceremony on your behalf or, if required act as a MC to facilitate your content. Everything I do is tailored to you, and is flexible.

I am a professionally trained celebrant, an experienced public speaker and an empathetic listener but above all I am interested and I care. I take great pride in my work and feel hugely privileged to be invited into people's lives at such a significant time.
