FUNERAL

 My name is Jill Harbridge and I am a professionally trained funeral celebrant writing and conducting funerals across Berkshire and South Oxfordshire.

Whether you have come across my website by chance, or through a recommendation I’m very aware that your first contact with me comes at a time that is likely to be painful and difficult. You may feel that you want an alternative to a traditional funeral but are not quite sure how to proceed or whether it’s for you. Alternatively you may know exactly what you want and require this to be facilitated.

We are all individuals and deserve to have our rites of passage marked in a way that is meaningful and true to our beliefs. I can help you to create a truly personal funeral ceremony that is exactly as you wish it to be. I will meet with you, taking time to learn about the person whose funeral you are arranging and discuss your thoughts and wishes.

You will be able to check and amend the ceremony content beforehand and I will offer you the full text of the ceremony to keep afterwards.

I have no religious agenda and I am not a "humanist" celebrant. Almost anything can be included in a celebrant led funeral service. You may wish to include personal tributes, poems, readings, songs, music, prayers or blessings - religious or otherwise. I shall follow your lead, but am able to make suggestions regarding content and have an extensive collection of poems, readings and blessings if helpful.

Generally, I will construct a ceremony with your input with regard to readings, poems, music and prayers. However if you prefer I can construct the ceremony on your behalf or, if required act as a MC to facilitate your content. Everything I do is tailored to you, and is flexible.
